Croatian authors and publishers at the Frankfurt Book Fair 2019
On this year’s Frankfurt Book Fair, held from 16th to 19th October 2019, the 56 m2 long Croatian national stand will be located in the Hall 5.0 (D117). Twenty Croatian publishers will exhibit at the stand (a special place on the stand will be reserved for 10 leading fiction, non-fiction and children’s titles).

Publishing house Istros Books has published Wild Woman, English translation of the book by Marina Šur Puhlovski first released in 2018 under the title Divljakuša. For Divljakuša, Šur Puhlovski was awarded with V.B.Z.'s Award for the Best Unpublished Novel in 2018.
The ninth GavranFest in Germany
The ninth GavranFest, the international theatre festival which exclusively features plays by the Croatian author Miro Gavran, will take place 1-3 February 2019 in the Sensemble Theatre in Ausburg, Germany.

Author Ivana Sajko and translator Alida Bremer are the winners of the tenth Internationaler Literaturpreis for translated contemporary literatures for the novel Liebesroman in its first German translation. Ivana Sajko receives a prize of 20,000 €, Alida Bremer receives a prize of 15,000 €.

The writer Kristian Novak has won the roman@tportal.hr award for his novel "Črna mati zemla" published by Algoritam.
