Danijel Dragojević

Danijel Dragojević (Vela Luka, 1934) is a poet, essayist, prosaist and playwright. His innovative style and original poetic influenced generations of Croatian poets. In 2005, he received the prestigious Goran Award for his book Murmur and in 2018 he was awarded with Vladimir Nazor Award for Lifetime Achievement, which he declined.

He debuted with poetry collection Turtle and Other Landscapes (1961), after which followed In Your Actual Body (1964), The Fourth Animal (1972), Walking Along the Railroad (1997), Murmur (2007), Carbon Age translated in Italian and Somewhere (2013). He is also known for his prosaic work published in collections On Veronica, Belzebub and Knocking on Uncertain Door (1970), The Doors Tale (1972), Bulk Cargo (1985), The Flower Square (1994).
