Tomica Šćavina

Tomica Šćavina was born in 1975, she is a Croatian writer and poet. She holds a degree in Psychology from the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. Her first novel, A Ship for Lajka has been shortlisted for the VBZ Prize for Best Unpublished Novel, and her second novel, The Return of a Genius, brought her two prizes, Sfera and Artefakt. Her third novel A Room at the Bottom of the Sea, with a work title Healing Dictionary, was also shortlisted for the above-mentioned VBZ Prize. She has published a poetry collection The Ornaments of a Fall and two children stories – The Tamer of Clouds and Legend of Love.

Šćavina teaches Psychology of Creativity course on Vern Univeristy in Zagreb, and leads a creative-psychologycal workshop at CeKaPe (Centre for Creative Writing) in Zagreb. She is a member of Croatian Writers’ Society and a member of Croatian Freelance Artists’ Association.
