Tea Tulić

Tea Tulić was born in Rijeka (Croatia) in 1978. Her work was published in various Croatian and international literature and cultural magazines. Her prose was translated into: English, German, Italian, Macedonian and Romanian language. In 2011, she won Prozak, a literary award for the best young author’s manuscript, which resulted in publication of her first book, a fragmentary novel Kosa posvuda (Hair Everywhere). The novel got numerous positive critics and the Croatian Ministry of Culture awarded it as one of the best prose books in 2011 based on a criterion of high level of literary art value.

The translations of Hair Everywhere are published in the United Kingdom, Italy, Macedonia and Serbia. Hair Everywhere was also in the semi-finals for the international awards: European Bank for Reconstruction and Development literature prize 2018. and Warwick prize for woman in translation 2018.

2014. in cooperation with musical collective Japanski Premijeri, she published spoken word album Albumče on the Bandcamp site. She is a member of RiLit, a non-formal group of writers from Rijeka and she teaches creative writing at CeKaPe workshops.

In 2017. She published her second book Maksimum jata (Flock’s maximum). In 2023. she published her novel Strvinari starog svijeta (Old world vultures) awarded with Tportal Literary Award for best Croatian novel in 2023.
