Jagna Pogačnik, Jutarnji list
Lazić’ novel is ‘’a novel about war’’, rather than ‘’a war novel’’; as I see it, this is the first time in the contemporary literature that war isn’t a defining element of the genre, but a multi-faceted starting point. Summer in the City definitely displays Zoran Lazić as an author agile with different styles and an author that isn’t afraid to experiment, this time, with extremely complex narrative structure. Lazić’ novel is ideologically strong and structurally exigent, and as such, deserves every accolade.
