Drago Glamuzina

Drago Glamuzina (Vrgorac, 1967) is Croatian poet, writer and editor. He graduated in comparative literature and philosophy from Zagreb’s Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and after that worked as a journalist at Vjesnik and as an editor at Nacional News Magazine. Later he worked as the editor-in-chief at Profil Publishing, and since 2011 he works as the editor-in-chief of VBZ Publishing. His poetry, prose and literary criticism have been published in various magazines, in newspapers and broadcasted on the radio.

His publications include poetry collections Butchers, Is That All, Everest, two books of a book of selected poems called Alone in that Forest accompanied by photographs by Stanko Abadžić, a book of selected poems in English Waiting for the Frogs to Fall and the novel Three.

Mesari won the Vladimir Nazor Book of the Year Award and the Kvirin Prize for the Best Book of Poetry, and was translated into German, Macedonian and Slovenian while the selections from it were also published in German, English and Polish. His novel Tri won the T-portal Prize for the best Croatian novel published in 2008.

Lora Tomaš Nominated for the European Prize for Literature

The Croatian author Lora Tomaš and her novel Paper of Your Skin have been selected among the 14 candidates for this year’s European Prize for Literature!

Since 2009, the European Prize for Literature champions rising stars in European literature, while celebrating the linguistic and literary diversity of countries participating in the Creative Europe programme. This year’s laureate will be announced on May 29th at the Warsaw International Book Fair.

Paper of Your Skin, published in Croatian by HENA COM in 2025, has been awarded the Fric Award, one of the most important Croatian literary prizes. Written in epistolary form, with elements of autofiction and travelogue, the novel explores the dynamics between memory and trauma, toxic relationship and female experiences, specifically within Indian society.

Robert Perišić Wins the Italian International Literary Prize Latisana per il Nord-Est

Acclaimed Croatian author Robert Perišić won the Italian international literary prize Latisana per
il Nord-Est for the Italian edition of his novel A Ship for Issa (La gatta alla fine del mondo,
translated by Elvira Mujičić and published by Bottega Errante Edizioni, 2025).

In its citation, the jury highlighted the novel’s distinctive voice, noting how its language resists the
inflation of ego while moving seamlessly between poetic and philosophical registers, never
abandoning its subtle humor. At the same time, the novel offers a lucid reflection of the
contradictions that shape our contemporary moment.

This award marks a new milestone in the international journey of A Ship for Issa, a novel that
has already resonated strongly across the region and continues to find new readers through
multiple translations.


About the Latisana per il Nord-Est Prize

Founded in 1994, the international literary prize Latisana per il Nord-Est was established to
celebrate and promote the cultural vitality of the region – initially Friuli Venezia Giulia, and later
expanding to encompass the broader Triveneto area as well as Austria, Croatia, and Slovenia.

The prize is awarded to authors born or residing in Friuli Venezia Giulia, Trentino-Alto Adige,
and Veneto, as well as in Austria, Croatia, and Slovenia, whose prose works are set in these
